Te’agbe Ward
Ta’agbe Ward (often spelled Te’ege or Ta’Agbe) lies east of Miango and forms part of Irigwe territory. It includes villages such as Hukke, Kitako (Kitako 1 & 6), Kpara, Nkiedonro, and Ta’agbe itself. The population is mostly Irigwe-speaking farmers, though some Hausa is also spoken. Ta’agbe Ward is in the Rukuba/Irigwe constituency; its people elect a councilor to Bassa’s council (as they did in previous elections). Historically these villages were part of the Miango Irigwe chiefdom (Bura chiefdom). Development issues in Ta’agbe include improving the Miango–Bukurungu road and supporting farming (cotton and maize are common crops). In 2021 elders from Ta’agbe joined the Plateau-wide Irigwe Development Association to seek peace and government aid.
