BASSA LGA is a Local Government Area (LGA) in the northern part of Plateau State, Nigeria. It shares boundaries with Kaduna and Bauchi States. The administrative headquarters is located in the town of Bassa, situated at 9°56′00″N 8°44′00″E. The LGA covers an area of 1,743 km² and had a population of 186,859 according to the 2006 census.
