Buji Ward
Buji Ward sits east of Bassa town (Pengana LGA) and covers villages often referred to collectively as “Buji District.” Its communities include Bimtiri, Howl Buji, Runfam Gwamna, Tilla, Tumu, and Zukku. This area is predominantly Buji–Boze speakers (Rigwe-related language) and is historically part of the Pengana/Jangwë area. Buji Ward’s inhabitants are agrarian, and many youths attend secondary schools in Bassa town. Politically, Buji Ward also falls in Pengana Constituency and has traditionally supported PDP candidates. There is no separate emir or chief in Buji – the ward is under the jurisdiction of the Pengana chief (Ogomo Pengana). Infrastructure issues here have included the need for better feeder roads and water supply to the scattered villages.
