Buhit Ward

Buhit Ward covers the southern part of Bassa town (the LGA headquarters) and outlying hamlets. Its polling units include Jebbu Bassa I–III, Kaskadi, Kissaloi I–II, Kisahyip, the Deaf School, Cinema (III–IV), and GSS Bassa II–III. (All of these are within urban Bassa or its environs.) The people of Buhit Ward are mixed: many are ethnic Buji or Ce living in town, as well as civil servants, traders and military families. Politically, Buhit is part of Rukuba/Irigwe constituency (though geographically in Bassa town). The ward has an APC-leaning vote in some elections. Development here is tied to Bassa town  issues include urban schools, markets and access roads. Given its location, Buhit usually sees more government projects (e.g. road paving or school renovation) than the more remote wards.
