Bakin Kogi Ward

Bakin Kogi Ward (sometimes called “Rimi/Bakin Kogi”) lies at the northern border of Bassa LGA. It encompasses a cluster of villages including Rimi itself (a long-established village on the Kaduna–Jos road) plus Bugu, Chokoro, Gimi, Kabake, P/Sonko, Rema, and Tioere The people here are ethnically lemoro and chokobo, and the area is largely rural farming land. Politically, Rimi ward voters help elect the Pengana Constituency representative. There is no separate chieftaincy in Rimi (it answers to Pengana). Development concerns include the state of the federal highway (which passes through Bakin Kogi) and access to clinics; Rimi villagers often rely on Jengre or Bassa town for services.
